About the Authors Michel Thérien
Michel Thérien ( ), native of Ottawa, studied at the University of Ottawa and published poems in literary magazines and student newspapers. After graduation he taught and worked in the public service in Canada and abroad. His books of poetry are "Fleuves de mica" (1998), "Corps sauvage" (2000), "Eaux d'ève" (2002, and "L'aridité des fleuves" (2004). Many of his poems are in literary magazines and anthologies in Canada and abroad. "The Wilderness Within" is his first English collection.

Rachelle Renaud
Rachelle Renaud, Franco-ontarienne d´origine, est poète, nouvelliste et romancière. Elle habite Montréal depuis 1992. Elle a publié Le roman d´Éléonore (VLB éditeur, Montréal, Prix Jacques-Poirier-Outaouais 1996), ainsi que deux recueils de nouvelles, L´amour en personne (Le Nordir, 1998) et Chocs légers (Le Nordir, 2003). Ses traductions ont paru dans plusieurs revues littéraires aux États-Unis et au Canada. Elle a reçu une mention honorable du Prix John Glassco 2000 pour Any Mail? and Other Stories (Nuage Editions, désormais Signature Editions, Winnipeg, 2000), une traduction du recueil de Gérald Tougas, La clef de sol et autres récits (XYZ éditeur, Montréal, 1996). Elle est membre de l´UNEQ et de l´Association des traducteurs et traductrices littéraires du Canada (ATTLC).

Rachelle Renaud is a Franco-Ontarian poet, short story writer and novelist who has lived in Montreal since 1992. Her books include Le roman d´Éléonore (VLB éditeur, Montreal, Prix Jacques-Poirier-Outaouais 1996), L´amour en personne (Le Nordir, 1998) and Chocs légers (Le Nordir, 2003). Her translations have appeared in various literary journals in the US and in Canada. She received an honourable mention for the John Glassco Prize 2000 for Any Mail? and Other Stories (Nuage Editions, Winnipeg, 2000), a translation of Gérald Tougas´ book La clef de sol et autres récits (XYZ éditeur, Montreal, 1996). She is a member of UNEQ and of the Literary Translators´ Association of Canada (LTAC).
